A month ago Google launched a beta add on for Microsoft Office called Google Cloud Connect, which allows people to work on either office or google docs by being able to edit spreadsheets, presentations, and documents online.
It’s a great solution for groups of people because it lets you work on files simultaneously and keeps everyone’s work synced online. If someone uploads a file to be edited then other people can edit it and it will update on everyone’s computers. It sure sounds like a great thing to have, but Google has other plans by offering this add on. Google is hoping to get office users to stop using office and slowly start using Google Docs instead.
In today’s time we seem to want everything fast, were always on the go, and were always online searching for things we want. Google has now made a new search mode to make searching faster. Introducing the new app Google Goggles!
Google has created Google Goggles, an app that can be used to search images you take rather than typing what you want. As of right now, only a few studios and companies such as, Disney and Buick, have begun to partner with google to test the app. So, let’s say you want to search for things about Toy Story, you would find an image with Toy Story, take a picture with your iPhone, Android, or any other phone you have, Goggles scans the image and in a few moments you get tons of results. It sure would make searches faster wherever you are, if you’re at home reading a magazine and you find something you like, take a picture and get your results quickly. Not only does it recognize images of products, but Google claims that besides the photo recognition, it will also recognize artwork, text, landmarks, books, wine, logos, and more!

As recently as this past summer, the iPhone 4 was the most desired smartphone on the market. In a survey conducted in June 2010, exactly 50% of the participants said that they wanted to buy the iPhone 4 once it was released. The Google Android took second place at 30%.
However, when a similar survey was conducted again in September, consumer preferences appeared to shift. Support for the Android had jumped to 37%, while the iPhone had plummeted to 38%. And it’s easy to see why!
Unlike the iPhone, the Android is highly customizable.
There are also fewer restrictions in the Android App Store, which means that third-party programmers will have more options for creating apps.
And Finally, the Android is not tied down to AT&T. Consumers displeased with At&t are making the switch to the Android.
All in all, the battle between the iPhone and the Android is coming down to which phone has more options. Which do you prefer?
Google has launched it’s website for the new Google TV and developers are lining up to have their apps featured. Twitter, Netflix and Pandora are just a few of the apps signed on so far.

Searching for a job? If you’ve never heard of it before, Google Alerts is like Google Search on a schedule. You enter a search term much like you would in Google search. But instead of giving you immediate results, Alerts watches the web for new matches to appear. Whenever new results are posted to the web for your search term Alerts sends you an email. The email includes links to the sites that mention your term along with a snippet of surrounding text for context.
So how does this help you watch Craigslist? Well, one of the cool things about Alerts is that you can use all kinds of Google search operators. For instance, the Site: keyword limits a search to a single domain. So if I put in “Civil Engineer” site:http://sandiego.craigslist.org as my alert search, new posts with the phrase “Civil Engineer” will be emailed to me as they pop up. But only results in the http://sandiego.craigslist.org domain will be included.
Swap out “Civil Engineer” for whatever it is you’re looking for and you’ve got yourself a San Diego Craigslist Alert. Check out the list of supported Google search operators to refine your own alerts. You don’t even need a Google account to setup an alert. Any email address will do. And if immediate emails aren’t your thing, there’s a daily digest mode for those low-demand things on your wish list.
