Angry Birds to be released for larger platforms

23 01 2011
Angry Birds, a highly addictive iPhone and Android game, is going to be released for the Xbox, the Wii, and the PS3.
Angry Birds is a puzzle game with an odd story behind it. The point is to put the birds in a slingshot and fire them at the enemy – in this case, egg-stealing pigs. It has a fun design, multiple levels, and a lot of personality.
At $1.99 per download, the game has done amazingly well on the iPhone and the Android. However, recreating it for the larger consoles will doubtlessly raise the price (Xbox games average about $45). On a larger console, there is potential for more levels and improved graphics, but will consumers really welcome such a pricey rendition of an old favorite? Would you?

Android closes gap on iPhone

22 11 2010

As recently as this past summer, the iPhone 4 was the most desired smartphone on the market. In a survey conducted in June 2010, exactly 50% of the participants said that they wanted to buy the iPhone 4 once it was released. The Google Android took second place at 30%.

However, when a similar survey was conducted again in September, consumer preferences appeared to shift. Support for the Android had jumped to 37%, while the iPhone had plummeted to 38%. And it’s easy to see why!

  • Unlike the iPhone, the Android is highly customizable.
  • There are also fewer restrictions in the Android App Store, which means that third-party programmers will have more options for creating apps.
  • And Finally, the Android is not tied down to AT&T. Consumers displeased with At&t are making the switch to the Android.

All in all, the battle between the iPhone and the Android is coming down to which phone has more options. Which do you prefer?
